Graduate- HFT- Jr. Trading Manager - Queenstown Based

Our Jr. Trading Managers work alongside a team of Trading Strategists and Analysts, monitoring electronic trading, recognizing problems, and analyzing opportunities within a highly competitive, cutting-edge industry. This is a fast-paced environment where quick thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential. Working alongside developers and programmers, you will provide end-user feedback on performance, reporting bugs and issues to aid the optimization and development of software architecture and machine learning technology. No prior experience required — full training provided for the right candidate.

Initial Training & Location:

The role is Queenstown based, providing hands-on experience in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring real-time electronic trading.

  • Overseeing and managing trade execution and risk across complex trading portfolios.

  • Backtesting and monitoring production performance.

  • Conducting front-line analyses, situational observations, and reporting.

  • Following Futures markets, economic data, and news releases relevant to trading.

  • Collaborating with Trading and Analyst Teams to enhance trading models.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C++, Java, C#, MATLAB, R, Python, or Perl.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • A deep interest in algorithmic trading and market dynamics.

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to multitask in a high-speed, team-oriented environment.

  • A passion for financial markets, large-scale data analysis, and strategic thinking.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.

  • An advanced degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or one of the hard sciences.

  • New Zealand residency or citizenship is required.
